© M. LechienPieter Stockmans is wellknown in the world of contemporary ceramics. He was one of the first Belgian potters who from the mid 70s onwards pushed the limits of this art by means of surprising installations and performances. From Charleroi (Photography museums) to Tournai (Museum for History and decorative arts), China is all we can think of. In the "Région du Centre", Binche (International Carnival and Mask museum), La Louvière (Centre for Engravings and Prints) and Mariemont (Royal Museum of Mariemont) have taken advantage of their geographical proximity to work out a common educational trail: "L'Empire du Milieu en region du Centre".
